LEGAL STATUS IN CANADA


If you are thinking in traveling to Canada you must to know...
Canada will receive you because the immigration stimulate the growth of this country, so Canada offers protection to refugees, students, temporary workers and business people.
REFUGEES: Canada has The Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) that give support to refugees when they arrive. The program includes: Greeting at the airpot and transportation until the final destination in Canada, temporary acommodation, education and health care system, financial orientation and language classes.
PERMANET RESIDENT: This status is given when an immigrant has the right to live permanently in Canada. As a permanent resident you have the right to receive most social benefits, live, work or study anywhere in Canada, to protection under canadian law and apply for canadian citizenship.
CANADIAN CITIZEN: To apply for a citizenship you must have permanent resident status in Canada, you must be at least 18 years old, you must have lived in Canada during three years, you need to be able to speak English or French, you must know rights and responsibilities of citizens.
